이름은 서울공항이지만 성남에 위치한 이곳은 일반 공항이 아니다.

대통령 전용기와 군 고위기밀 이동이 이루어지는 핵심 군사시설이기에 「군사기지 및 군사시설 보호법」에 따라 제1급 보안시설로 지정되어 있다. 지도에서는 고화질 위성사진이 차단되며, 로드뷰도 인근에서 끊기거나 지연 표시된다.

아무 일도 없는 평범한 공항처럼 보이지만, 실상은 국가 군사 작전의 핵심이다. 이곳의 구체적 구조를 알 수 없다는 사실 자체가 그 중요성을 반증한다.
